Mortlach 14 Year Old 2005 (cask 13729) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Another meaty Mortlach from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range! This Speysider was distilled in 2005 and left to mature in a single refill hogshead. After 14 years passed, it was independently bottled in 2019, with a release of 326 bottles at an approachable 48.4% ABV. A fabulous balance of malt, fruit and vanilla in here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Biscuity malt and lemon peel, with heather honey and peaches and cream.
Palate
Notes of nectarine and oaky vanilla, with white grape and a generous dose of fresh malt.
Finish
Apple skin and orange curd, leading into earthy oak.
