Distilled at Mortlach in 2009, this single malt was filled into three hogsheads to mature. 13 years later, the folks at Signatory craked open the cask, bottling the whisky up without any added colour and without chill-filtration, to join the other stunning expressions in its independent Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Custard tart, roasted almonds, burnt sugar, a pinch of bitter cocoa.
Creamy barley leads with zingy sweet marmalade. Crushed macadamia nuts and spiced honey follow.
Floral orchard fruits, more nutty malt, warming spice slowly builds, with a prickle of pepper and sweet butterscotch.
