“I've only ever had the rare old expression of Mortlach ( which is one of my all time favorites) so to see something with an age statement from them I couldn't resist and I am glad I got this. The nose is rich and inviting with lots of cinnamon/raisin, the palate is glorious so much character, nutty , spicy, oaky and even a little bit smoky with a lovely raisin and orange marmalade finish leaving an oily feel in your mouth. For a 12 year old Speyside whisky it doesn't get much better than this I am really loving this bottle gonna have to go get another for just $ 50 totally worth it. Thanks Mortlach !Cheers! Description

This is a 12 year old single malt produced at the Mortlach distillery in Speyside, unveiled in 2018 as part of a trio (including a 16 Year Old and a 20 Year Old). This particular expression features the subtitle The Wee Witchie, which comes from the name of the tiny still that distils a portion of the whisky. It's drawn from bourbon and sherry casks, and packs a hearty punch of meaty Mortlach-y malt at its core, supported by dried fruit and toffee notes.

Didn’t grab my bag!

Sorry but I can’t give this any more than 4 stars, there is nothing wrong with it but it just didn’t grab my bag! A pleasant drink but not for me.

Great dram

Nice bottle for a gift or yourself. Good value. Robust oak and oily palate and a smooth finish. Look forward to trying more from Mortlach

A very nice gift.

Was gifted this, and very nice it is too. Raisins, toffee, nuts and spice all making this very enjoyable. Can't see this bottle lasting long!

50 years to discover this !

Why has it taken me over 50 years to discover the Wee Witchie ? A great Malt for those who like a “meaty” Speyside. My previous favourite Speyside was the 12 Year Old Macallan, but now at knocking 70 quid, the Wee Witchie has it beat !
