Mortlach 12 Year Old 2006 (cask 12942) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Another brilliant bottling of the Beast of Dufftown! This right here is a 12 year old Mortlach single malt, distilled back in November 2006 and aged in a single refill hogshead. A dozen years later, Douglas Laing came along and bottled up the whisky for its ever-fabulous Old Particular range. Just 285 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Marmalade on rye toast, floral barley, stone fruit and maple syrup.
Palate
More citrus - orange oil and wine gums. A solid core of cedar and smoke, plus a hint of burnt brioche.
Finish
Lingering peppermint and a touch of damson.
