12 year old Mortlach single malt, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. This was drawn from a single refill hogshead, which matured the whisky from June 2006 to June 2018, before being bottled at 48.4% ABV. Just 367 bottles were produced.
Nose: Honeyed malt and nutmeg, with underlying malty chocolate hints.
Palate: Filo pastry, maple syrup, peppercorn and lingering baking spices.
Finish: Very subtly meaty, balanced by toffee and lemon.
