Marvellous Mortlach single malt here, independently bottled by Signatory for the well-loved Un-Chillfiltered Collection range. This one was matured in two hogsheads for 11 years, from 2009 to 2021, before being bottled up at 46% ABV, without any of the chill-filtration. None of that, thank you very much.
Cooked apple with a generous dusting of nutmeg and ginger, plus some flaky pastry.
Roasted nuts, orange zest, powerful malt with a pinch of pepper.
Still boasts a hefty helping of spice to it, while orchard fruit notes give it some balance.
