Mitchell's a blended whisky from Springbank's owners J and A Mitchell. This is based on whisky from Glengyle single malt.
Nose: Citrus, light and fruity. Grainy, gristy, warm pastries, stone fruits, cut hay and spices.
Palate: Lively spices, good body with notes of vibrant barley and fruit.
Finish: Bittersweet with a hint of walnut dryness.
Overall: Youthful but well constructed blend.

Excellent whisky, gentle peat, smooth and bright. Very passable, opens up with an ice cube. Highly recommended.

A really Lovely whiskey (not just because of the name). It has a really warm subtle taste, of Malt, & peat fires. With a distinctive after taste of it's own.I am a really seasoned whiskey drinker, one who drinks whiskey purely for the taste& not the effect, as such this is , in my opinion, a really highly rated, flavourablewhiskey to choose, for the serious, discerning whiskey drinker.Enjoy, as I'm sure you will.

I was in Cadenhead's Whisky Shop in Edinburgh last week where I found a bottle of this, and since it shares my name purchased it, along with some fine cask strength vatted malts. This whisky is without any artificial coloring. It is very fruity on the nose. It is smooth on the mouth with just a touch of smoke on the finish. A touch of water opens up a host of ripe soft fruit flavors even more. Malty. Restorative. Recommend before a meal. A light, well priced blend. I don't know if this Wm. Mitchell is my ancestor, but you honor my name with a good whisky.

Very similar to Longrow from the same source, though not not quite as complex but barely half the price!
