Michter's Sour Mash Whiskey was once an incredibly popular expression back in the 1970s and 1980s, though in recent years, it had disappeared from the market. However, it has returned in the shape of Michter's US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey - awesome! Very well balanced notes of sugared almonds, cinnamon spice and vanilla sweetness.

Oily, corn and cherry. It's not really like Scotch at all. It's young and quite fiery, and overpriced for what it is, but it packs in the flavour, and the finish is long and rich. Perhaps a little one dimensional, and hardly subtle, but I quite like it. Wood, spice, fire and cherry - easy drinking, and enjoyably different.
Caramel and strong corn present at the tasting
Chewy toffee, mildly spiced. A bit woody / smokey Long. Very long. And then a nice bite. That’ll do! (I bet I have a second :) )
Bought off the ratings below. It's a decent, sweet and sour whiskey that's good in cocktails but £50 for 43% and NAS is quite pricey when you can get Wild Turkey 101 for half that or 4 Roses Single Barrel for a tenner less.
Can only add to the 5 star treatment this wonderful whisky is getting on here..sweet and smooth, full of American bakery flavours with a woody dry finish and a lovely spicy hit. Top class. If you’re thinking about buying it blind, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret.
