Michter's Sour Mash Whiskey was once an incredibly popular expression back in the 1970s and 1980s, though in recent years, it had disappeared from the market. However, it has returned in the shape of Michter's US*1 Sour Mash Whiskey - awesome! Very well balanced notes of sugared almonds, cinnamon spice and vanilla sweetness.

Quite simply an amazing whiskey. Smooth yet with a fiery spicy bite that lingers and mellows beautifully. Full of flavours and complexity. Wonderful stuff.
This isn't bourbon. There is a Michter's Bourbon, but this isn't it. Under American law, bourbon has to have at least 51% corn in it, and Michter's Sour Mash Whiskey has less than 51% corn.
It doesn't get much better than this. Smooth but complex. Sweet caramel, vanilla and toasted oats. This is a simply awesome Bourbon.
