    Michel Couvreur Overaged Malt Whisky

A blended malt from Michel Couvreur, who gets Scotch whisky sent over to France to be aged in Sherry oak casks in Burgundy before blending. Quite unusual, but very intriguing.

    Real nice.

Almost identical to the suntory hibiki. It's really uncanny.

    Very good

Fabulous Easy open....use a standard wine screw right down the center of wax and cork....lever up just like a fine wine! Enjoy!

    Almost brandy-like, plus a tip

Great sherried scotch, almost a brandy-style character more than malt. Very sherry on the nose, a bit hotter on the palate than I would expect for 43%. I like it more than the glendronach PX equivalent. A Tip for whisky folks that may be unfamiliar with this style of closure (usually reserved for wine). Use a real wine key/corkscrew and go in straight through the wax on top. When you pull out the cork, it should snap off the top part of the wax cleanly as the cork comes out). Don't mess about with trying to remove the wax separately.

    Beautifully sweet whisky

Hard to find, harder to open but worth the effort. Lovely sweet drop with a lingering aftertaste. Very different from some of his other styles.

    Magnificent !

This was recommended to me by my local. I'm starting to get into whisky and trying to broaden my pallate to see what I really like. I've tried some absolute gold from Sullivan's Cove in Tassie as well as more traditional top drops including the Islay classics that are very peaty. I have recently moved into the Japanese range trying Nikka from the barrell as well as the Hakusha 12 yr old. But I must say that this drop from France is now my new favourite. It's an incredibly smooth long finish with quite a sweet taste to it. At $120 it's up there but worth it IMO. The bottle is very attractive but as with the other comments a total pain in the arse to open and keep closed.
