A single malt from Michel Couvreur, whose whiskies are sent over from Scotland to be matured in cellars in Burgundy using Sherry oak casks. Couvreur was a big believer in oak playing the biggest part in a whisky's flavour, favouring Sherry oak casks. This expression is well-Sherried indeed, with a lively floral character deeper within - perhaps this is where the "Blossoming" in its name comes from.
Opens with the aroma of maple syrup pancakes, giving way to rich black cherries, cloves, bread-and-butter pudding and treacle. Apple blossom and roast pork hints sneak in, too.
A warm, velvety and opulent mouthfeel with notes of Christmas cake, raisin, cinnamon stick and dried orange peel.
Long, rich and intense - the Christmas cake continues, with vanilla custard bringing a lighter sweetness in at the very end.
A triumphant Sherry bomb single malt.

The best whisky I’ve ever tasted. In 30 years of tasting whisky from all over the world this beats them all. Once opened, a bottle will not last long. A velvety smoothness and mellow taste makes this a very moreish dram. Expensive but worth every penny.
Came across the overaged while out of town,Wow this was different ran through my brain.Did research, found about the Blossoming,1 store here(West Canada)had a few if them.Picked 1 up and was blown away with the dark fruits,leather/tobacco notes and that floral bouquet is like walking into a flower shop full of Roses.Great stuff,I went back and bought the remaining 4 bottles???. Cheers
Stumbled across Whisky for Life almost by accident. Best thing that ever happened to discover Blossoming Auld Sherried. I’m a dedicated McCallan fan but this is the finest I’ve ever tasted. Just wish I could buy it here.
Fabulous
Nose is powerful, first taste is smooth & sweet, very flavorful, punch comes after a few seconds and then those flavors linger till the last thing you taste a fig jam flavor.
