Bourbon

Another one from the "Top Secret" rack here at MoM Towers, this single malt hails from an undisclosed Highland distillery. Given the size of the region, we're afraid that info probably doesn't help you narrow things down all that much, so you'll have to rely on your tastebuds to tell you what it's all about... and our tasting notes below, they should paint a pretty good picture too. Distilled in 1996 and matured in bourbon barrels for 22 years, a total of 219 bottles join our exclusive Master of Malt collection.

Vibrant barley and zingy candied pineapple lead the way, with prickles of anise and clove kept in check by waves of creamy vanilla and softly toasted oak.
Robust oak and peppery malt are accompanied by waves of crème caramel. Juicy peach, dried tropical fruits, and honeyed prunes follow, with chewy toffees and a touch of ginger cake.
A brilliant balance of sweetness and spice, with syrup-soaked stone fruits, toasted marzipan, and hearty oaken spice.

Overripe gooseberries, strong carbonated lemonade. Very sparkling. Fresh. Clean. Beguiling fruity. The age is noticeable. Maybe a Knockdhu?
A superb whisky for £100. A good depth of flavour that you would expect from a 22 year old whisky with an initial pineapple note which then mutes into peach. Very good .
