Macduff "Cheers To Better Days" 12 Year Old 2009 (cask 15233) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
12 year old single malt from the marvellous Macduff Distillery, independently bottled up by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. This expression was aged in a refill hogshead for a dozen years, from June 2009 to September 2021, before being bottled at 48.4% ABV with an outturn of only 327 bottles – each one featuring the rather optimistic phrase "Cheers to better days" on the label.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Barley sugar sweeties, grist, buttered toast, dried apple chips.
Palate
Wave after wave of vanilla, with a dusting of nutmeg and drying barley.
Finish
A lingering sweetness of pear on the finish.
