8 year old single malt from the marvellous Macduff distillery, independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of their extensive Provenance range. It was matured in a refill hogshead from June 2009 to June 2017, when Douglas Laing bottled it at 46% ABV with an outturn of just 356 bottles.

Nose
Stem ginger, vanilla essence and sponge cake.
Palate
More cake-y deliciousness on the palate, with a hint of cherry bakewell tucked away behind layers of Victoria sponge.
Finish
Dried apple and apricot notes linger alongside black pepper and cumin.
