A Provenance bottling of 10 year old Macduff single malt, distilled back in June 2009. After a decade of rest in a refill hogshead, this Highlander was bottled up by Douglas Laing at 46% ABV, with an outturn of 368 bottles. A creamy, subtly fruity expression here, folks. Good stuff, Macduff!

If you read the tasting notes on this you might expect a gentle sweet dram with notes of desserts dominating, and after a sip or two and with some water that is what you get, definite lemon meringue pie . But the first taste is hot, hot, hot chilli peppers and lime? Bit of a shock, not unpleasant at all but hot whisky
