You don't see all that many indie bottlings of Royal Lochnagar's single malt, so this is a bit of a special occasion! It's a 21 year old expression from the distillery, aged from 2000 to 2021 in a refill hogshead. Eventually, it was bottled up by Hunter Laing as part of the book-inspired First Editions series, with 289 bottles produced.
Spruce needles, waxy peels, brown bread with marmalade, nutty chocolate.
Slowly develops on the palate with delicate peat, more milk chocolate, and cream crackers.
Fennel, caramel, and toasted sugar.
