Croftengea 14 Year Old 2006 (cask 18245) - Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)
Smoky single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery, independently bottled by Hunter Laing as part of the long-running Old Malt Cask indie bottling range. This expression was aged in a bourbon cask from 2006 to 2021, and after 14 years of slumber, it was bottled up under the Croftengea name (which Loch Lomond uses for peaty single malts). 257 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Subtle peat smoke, wrapped up in sweet vanilla and a touch of butter.
Palate
Quite nutty – almonds, pistachios, and chocolate peanuts. Still has some smoky elements running through it.
Finish
Lingering peppery spice.
