Lovely Linkwood single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled in February 2019 by Douglas Laing as part of the Old Particular range. The single malt was matured in a single refill hogshead which, when it was cracked open after 21 years, yielding 128 bottles at 51.5% ABV. A well balanced whisky, full of fruit and spice.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Soft lemon and toasted nuts, with a hint of oily malt in the background.

Palate

Grassy at first, before notes of sultana, redcurrant, cassia and black pepper develop. A hint of dusty oak and leather in the background.

Finish

Toasted nuts once again, plus marmalade on rye toast.
