A Distiller's Selection bottling of Lark single malt whisky from the Lark Distillery down in Tasmania. A rich, sweet, subtly delicate Port-matured expression, aged in a 100 litre "quarter" cask. Australian whiskies have been getting plenty of accolades as of late - keep up the good work!
A very direct hit of sweet tobacco, freshly polished wood, stewed berries & plums with a spray of Mr sheen on polished wood and even some Kendal mint cake in the mix on the nose. A jammy delivery with French toast, ginger cake, hot toffee sauce, fig jam on toasted sultana pancakes and a finish of rum & raisin fudge, chocolatey oak and aromatic spices on ripe strawberry. Bit in your face and not much subtlety here but hey it is from down under. The Whisky Flaneur
