In 1815, the Laphroaig distillery was founded on Islay. In 2015, the distillery celebrated its 200th anniversary. To mark the occasion, it brought back its 15 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky for a limited edition release!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

It's better than the 10yo, in fact, it rates right up there with Lagavulin. I love it with ice, very smooth, complex, unique, bright, almost salty, tiny sips on the rocks work best, pretty good straight too.
Have loved the Lap 10 . . . now especially love the 15. This is a darker, richer LOOKING version, with the same peaty punch but with, perhaps, a little more sweetness than the 10 yo. But in my opinion, it is not worth the 30% price increase over the Lap 10. NO way. It is very good indeed, but so is the 10 year old. Glad they made this, but it is hard to improve on the perfection that is Laphroaig 10.
If you like laphroaig, you'll love this. A brilliant whisky! Not quite as complex as the 18, "which makes sense" though this is probably slightly smoother and the 18 is pretty smooth. The flavour profile is rich and sweet. Quality stuff.
I love Laphroaig. All of them. This one is my new favorite. It has all the big, in your face flavors; just smoother. It really is delicious. I hope it's around for a while. I'm going to want another bottle soon.
I hold the 18 yo very high but this one is making a good run for the top position. Still quite smooth for a Laphroaig and for a whisky this powerful and peaty. Truly recommend it.
