In 1815, the Laphroaig distillery was founded on Islay. In 2015, the distillery celebrated its 200th anniversary. To mark the occasion, it brought back its 15 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky for a limited edition release!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

In my opinion, this is MUCH better than the 10 year old. The 10 has nice features such as a very creamy finish that lingers forever. However, it is somewhat harsh and has a very overpowering smell/taste of band-aids which is hard to get past. The 15 is much smoother and is a more relaxing experience. It has enough sweetness to satisfy the speyside/highland drinkers, and enough peat/earth/smoke to satisfy the islay lovers. There is just enough medicinal notes to remind you that you are in fact drinking laphroaig but it isn't over powering and is very tolerable. This is definitely a must try, and if it isn't just a marketing campaign, you should buy a couple bottles to have lying around for when they run out and it's gone until the next re-release of the delicious laphroaig 15
Just fantastic. Love the peat and iodine. Slightly toned down compared to its 10-year sibling (obviously), this is an exceptional product.
What a delicious ode to its sadly discontinued predecessor. Beautiful Laphroaig peaty background but with citrus and spice speckled throughout. I could leave my nose in this glass for hours. Once in the mouth, I don't want it to leave, yet the finish is sublime. I'd buy a case if I could!
