Blended
Scotland

This third release in Johnnie Walker's Blue Label Ghost & Rare series shines a light on the long-closed Glenury Royal Distillery. As with the previous bottlings (which focussed on Brora and Port Ellen), the rare whisky from this lost distillery sits at the core of the blend. Alongside Glenury Royal's single malt, master blender Dr. Jim Beveridge used malts from Pittyvaich, Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, and Glenkinchie, as well as grains from Cambus and Cameronbridge to build out the expression.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Fresh orchard fruit (pear, peach and a hint of sharp green apple), savoury olive oil notes and cinder toffee.
More sherried notes come to the fore here, with dried fruit and cinnamon sticks. Still enjoyably oily, though a floral lightness develops.
Pastry, apple, black pepper. Chocolatey elements stick around.

My son and two of his friends thought it was a beautiful drink
Mine was excellent and i thought better than the Port Ellen release, nice and smooth and a come and have more type dram money well spent
On the nose is complex and refined. Taste is well balanced. Probably my favorite blended.
