Johnnie Walker Red Label Whisky was created 1909 and is a classic blended whisky, a great mixer and back bar favourite.

Nose

A surprisingly rich, aromatic nose with heather honey, mixed peels, soft smoke and rum spice.

Palate

Cedar wood, oak and butterscotch, aniseed, Christmas cake and malt.

Finish

Long, spiced nose with smoke on the tail.

Harsh

Easily my least favourite that I've had! Very harsh on the palate with a punch of alcohol overpowering anything else. Need to try other JW's to compare.

There are better options, even for less money.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Red Johnny. You can get a Ballantine's for about the same price, or a Teatchers for even less. Don't fall victim to the marketing wank.

Smokers might enjoy this. Because that's what it tastes like. I like my Scotch neat on ice, but with this I add mixers.

Cheap price and pleasant taste.

I only buy Red Label when it's on offer for £15 which it often is. For this price there's only one better whisky I know of and that's sold at Aldi but the name escapes me. A strong 3.5 from me(Aldi gets a 4) Red Label tastes good, not unpleasant at all.
