A well-matured blended grain Scotch whisky here from the J.G. Thomson range, named after an Edinburgh-based wine and spirits merchant from back in the 18th Century. This expression offers up oodles of notes that will be familiar to fans of old grain whiskies – expect dense vanilla, waxy peels, melted chocolate, bubble gum, and more...

Nose

Vanilla pod, orange peels, malt loaf, brown sugar, a hint of mahogany.

Palate

Hazelnut spread and brioche, buttery shortbread, bubble gum sweetness, and a dusting of cinnamon.

Finish

Fudge, tropical fruit, and gingerbread.
