Invergordon 53 Year Old 1966 (cask 13339) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Very well-matured single grain Scotch whisky here from the Invergordon Distillery, which was matured in a cask for 53 years! It was distilled back in May 1966 and slept peacefully in a refill barrel until May 2019, when it was bottled with a tiny outturn of just 121 bottles by Douglas Laing as part of the Xtra Old Particular range.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
The nose shows milk chocolate, a creamy vanilla quality and a slightly waxy note.
Palate
The palate is distinctively mocha'd in style developing to buttered gingerbread and spiced oak.
Finish
The elegant finish brings pastry, marinated fruit and toasted cereals.
