Douglas Laing
Scotland
A very well-aged single grain from the Invergordon distillery. This 52 year old whisky(!) was distilled in November 1964 and aged in a single refill barrel for over half a century before being bottled in November 2016 by Douglas Laing. It has been released as part of their Xtra Old Particular range, which is reserved for rare whiskies, and this certainly fits the bill. 236 bottles were produced.
Rich vanilla ice cream, freshly baked chocolate brownies and a touch of black pepper.
Cinnamon, runny caramel, more vanilla and a helping of brown sugar. Old oak develops on the mid-palate.
Decadent toffee and spiced molasses.

Gorgeous!
As a 1964 baby, I had to try this and boy, am I glad I did!!?
Just amazing.
