From Douglas Laing's fantastic Xtra Old Particular range comes a 30 year old Invergordon single grain, matured in a refill butt cask from August 1988 to July 2019. After three decades of peaceful slumber, this grain whisky was bottled at cask strength, with an outturn of 440 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Cinnamon rolls, citrus blossom, old oak furniture and a bit of banana bread.

Palate Brioche dipped in coffee, crumbly fudge and candied peels.

Finish Strawberry jam, melted butter, a slow build of dry baking spices.

Reviews for Invergordon 30 Year Old 1988 (cask 13575) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
An overarching sense of disappointment.
Thirty years... and this is all they managed?? A review as harsh as the product. Nose? Cheap aftershave. Palate? A combination of sour fruit and syrup (plus a sense of relief that I still have one). Finish? Acid. A real "Pass me the Gaviscon" moment of pure Duracell. Just been given an unaged Loch Lomond that was nicer (and I am not a fan of theirs at all). Unbelievable price for a below average product.
