Inchgower 23 Year Old 1998 (cask 18473) - Old Malt Cask (Hunter Laing)
Superb single malt from Inchgower, matured for 23 years in a single cask between 1998 and 2021. Fortune would have it that the cask found its way to the folks at indie bottler Hunter Laing, who opened it up to release a total of 144 bottles for its Old Malt Cast series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sugary barley and sweet stone fruits tangle with nutty oak and old leather. Hints of earthen herbs poke through.
Palate
Vanilla cream with fresh honeyed fruit leads to a rich depth of oily malt and oaken spice.
Finish
Those leathery notes return. Golden syrup, floral barley, and a fleck of charred spice linger.
