Inchgower 1998 (bottled 2013) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
While most of the whisky from Inchgower goes into some very popular blends, some does escape as a single malt, like this independent bottling from Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled in 1998 and left to mature in refill Sherry butts until 2013, when it became part of the Connoisseurs Choice range.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Red apple skin, citrus fruits, herbaceous hints and mint.
Palate
Warming Sherried notes, char and hazelnut. Chocolate-y in spots.
Finish
Medium length. Continued sweetness.
Overall
It's always interesting to get a taste of Inchgower, if only because we don't see it all that often.
