Highland Park
Scotland
Single Malt
Following on from The Valhalla Collection, this new limited edition Highland Park will also come with a cradle, which will be shaped like a mountain as opposed to a longship.
Matured mostly in bourbon casks, it's profile is said to most resemble Freya, although this release is in honour of the Ice Realm of Niflheim (hence the cut blue glass bottle). This land of perpetual ice and cold is home to the frozen river of Elivágar and the well of Hvergelmir! There are Nine Worlds in Norse mythology, but this two-part series is completed by Highland Park Fire Edition.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Resplendent aromas of cool, fresh pineapple and ripe mango sorbet come to life in this celebration of glacial character. Silvery shards of smoke give way to the frosty kick of root ginger.
Like the Ice Giants themselves, the palate is powerful yet mellifluous. In true Highland Park style, the combination of an argent, misty peat smoke is intertwined with pearly iridescent vanilla seeds and overtones of molten orris root.
Beautifully balanced, the creamy, rich, oily finish snowballs into long lingering woodiness and dry, feverish spices, providing a scintillating and harmonious whisky to savour.

As an older Orcadian who likes a dram and has tried many of the Highland Park selection I have just had my first taste of the Ice edition. This is a beautiful and very easy to drink dram. I totally disagree with the previous reviews and can only assume they do not have the experience to appreciate a great whisky. Only negative from my point of view is that its a wee bit expensive
I managed to get a hold of two bottles of Ice by chance so one is for investment and one is to enjoy. Very enjoyable dram, very reminiscent of Freya. With notes of pineapple and mango and a gentle wisp of smoke it goes down a treat. Well worth the buy.
For the money this leaves a lot to be desired.
