Highland Park 21 Year Old 1996 (cask 12204) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
An independently bottled single malt from the Highland Park distillery, aged for 21 years in a single refill hogshead! It was distilled in Orkney in September 1996, then slumbered peacefully for over two decades until the cask was cracked open and drained of its delicious whisky in November 2017 by Douglas Laing. Release as part of the Xtra Old Particular range, with only 283 bottles produced.

Nose
Sandalwood, redcurrant, maple syrup and sea air.
Palate
Continued mineral-y coastal elements, now joined by soft smoke and ginger.
Finish
Orange chocolate sweetness with a hint of earthy peat.
