Harmony - a rather apt word to describe this well-balanced Japanese blended whisky from the Hibiki range. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from five different types of cask, including American white oak casks, sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. An elegant expression, with wafts of honey, orange, a herbaceous touch or two, and light oak.
Red berries, green apple and layers of rich honey.
Melted butter and caramelised dates. A hint of fragrant sandalwood develops into warming, oaky spice.
Brown sugar, citrus peels, white grape, and black pepper.

Great whisky very easy drinking. However the taste is almost identical to glenmorangie a mid winters night which is half the price. Cool bottle though.
If smoky peaty briny single malts are winter, then the Hibiki Harmony is spring. It is light, sweet, bright, fool of fruit.. that citrusy influence that is just...yummy! There are very few whiskies even close in price point that I would rank with this one.
By far one of the most elegant whiskies. I enjoy it straight with just a splash of cold water. I smell orange, a bit of chocolate and toffee. Very smooth taste with a sweet buttery end. It is complex but not too complex and medium strong.
While this blend from Hibiki does remain smooth from start to finish, it also has a pleasing complexity that makes you want to taste it again. It has a nice finish that lingers softly, which I like, allowing you to easily continue to drink it. I was never one to try and pinpoint every last flavor detail - I leave that to those with a more refined palate, than I. What I value is a whisky that tastes great and is a pleasure to drink in the overall experience. I find that Hibiki Japanese Harmony is exactly that.
This is a beautiful whiskey. It is smooth, delicious, sweet and well worth the price.
