An exquisite 12 year old blended Japanese whisky. Hibiki includes malt whisky from Yamazaki and Hakushu, as well as grain whisky from Chita. The whisky is partly matured in plum liqueur barrels. Sadly, following the massive surge in popularity of Japanese whisky in the 2010s, this expression was discontinued by Suntory in 2015. Bottles have now become rare and collectible.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Please also note it comes without a box.
Juicy marmalade with real chunks of orange, cooked apples dusted with cinnamon, thick honey and plum wine.
Crushed almonds, stewed fruits, clove-studded oranges. Sherried malt and a subtle core of oak.
Bright and flavoursome with crisp apple and citrus.

First taste is a oak, followed by apricot, plum, and rose. Finished with complex smokey hues of burnt cherry. Some whiskeys just have the magic factor, and this one does. Needs to be drunk from a large open whiskey glass with a wide bowl. Swirl a few times to open it up and start with the fragrance. Needs a couple of minutes to get the full effect. Magical!
Received as a gift from my Japanese friend Mr. Jinya , but I have to give this to my any non Muslim friend as Alcohol is strictly prohibited in my religion.
Bought this on a whim as the price was right ($59). That being said, it left me very flat. A bit of a let down for my first Japanese distilled whisky.
Just ok and non descript. Opens up with a bit of water, but nothing to write home about.
Just yummy. Brings a smile to my face.
