This English whisky comes to us from the Lake District, from the folks behind Hawkshead Brewery! This whisky is aged in Hawkshead's own Red Ale barrels imparting a fantastically fruity, sweet, and oaky depth.
Fruit Salad sweeties with a touch of oak warmth.
Malty, with baking spices and layers of caramel.
Tannic oak notes last on the finish.

Sherbert lemons and green apple on the nose. A bit of spice on the palette, but rather thin and watery, but a nice long finish. Hold on… One is not normally able to review a £20 bottle is this way! For this price the benchmark for worth buying is ‘drinkable’. Well, this exceeds. Buy it if you want to have a not-overpriced English whisky on your shelf. Buy it because it’s better than a standard supermarket blend. Buy it and knock a fee back with ice guilt free. Good job Hawkshead!
