When we first heard about the initial Haig Club being released with David Beckham we had a discussion at MoM Towers about what the price point would be. When it was eventually announced, however, it was quite a bit higher than the whiskies we'd previously assumed they'd be competing with. That's where Haig Club Clubman comes in, which will be the more "mainstream" variant.
The Clubman, a single grain Scotch whisky distilled at Cameronbridge and matured in ex-bourbon casks, is designed to be enjoyed with cola.
Inoffensive vanilla, nougat and caramel notes. With Beckham behind it, we can see plenty of vodka coke drinkers making the switch to Clubman and not looking back.

Awful, just truly and monumentally awful. I'm no snob about whisky, and although I enjoy a good Islay or highland malt, I'm quite at home with a drop of Grouse or similar. To me it doesn't really taste like whisky at all, in fact it doesn't taste of anything much except burn with a chemical aftertaste. I imagine with a mixer one might drown out the flavor, such as it is, which may make it acceptable, but I think this may be one that sits in the cupboard until someone I'm not fond of visits. In the meantime I'll go get some grouse, which at least tastes of whisky. Hints of aftershave and disappointment.
I think this has a nice aroma. But I'd rather buy a candle to be honest! It can work with a mixer, but I wouldn't even add it to a home blend. And I'm a David fan!
Bitter aftertaste and rather one dimensional.
Love it, a smooth, soft whisky, particularly enjoyed by lots of my women friends, when we have been having a 'Girks Night' at home. Very moreish. Slips down very easily.
Agree with those who accept this as an everyday scotch. Compared with the NAS rubbish coming out of the premier brands this is an honest, well priced drop. Lagavulin for Friday nights, this for the weekday unwind; very drinkable with or without a mixer.
