When we first heard about the initial Haig Club being released with David Beckham we had a discussion at MoM Towers about what the price point would be. When it was eventually announced, however, it was quite a bit higher than the whiskies we'd previously assumed they'd be competing with. That's where Haig Club Clubman comes in, which will be the more "mainstream" variant.
The Clubman, a single grain Scotch whisky distilled at Cameronbridge and matured in ex-bourbon casks, is designed to be enjoyed with cola.
Inoffensive vanilla, nougat and caramel notes. With Beckham behind it, we can see plenty of vodka coke drinkers making the switch to Clubman and not looking back.

As a regular single malt whisky drinker I readily picked this up whilst seeing it on offer at my local Coop. It’s a different proposition than other whiskies I have tried and reminded me of the Jack Daniels I drank as a young man. Let’s say it is bourbonesque but so much more. Drink this neat and you won’t be disappointed. Surprisingly sweet without being sickly and it has multitude complex flavours too.
Awful. Tastes like vanilla vodka with a hint of whisky thrown in for effect. Mixed it with some Irn Bru to try and make it more palatable but it's just not happening for me. Maybe it's a 'grower'. I'll persevere with other mixers as I'm loathe to just throw it away.
I find it very mild, not spicy and it has a great aroma.
It's not a single malt. It isn't expensive or top of the range. If you are not blinded by single malt snobbery, I suggest you try it. It's very drinkable and is good value for money. If you are a whiskey snob then keep away from it and don't whinge.
Utterly gross. Back notes of meths over men's urinal. If you like whisky avoid this like the plague. Nothing improves it. Not ice. Not water. Not mixers. After one small sample the remainder of the bottle was tipped down the sink.
