Nomad Outland Whisky is a collaborative blended whisky from renowned master distiller Richard Paterson and expert Sherry producers Gonzalez Byass. It is made with a selection of over 30 malt and grain whiskies aged between five and eight years old in Scotland. Following that, the whisky is shipped off to Jerez, where it is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for a year before it is bottled. Richard Paterson and Gonzalez Byass' master distiller, Antonio Flores, experimented with different Sherry casks, including oloroso and fino, but ultimately decided on the Pedro Ximénez casks for this enticing expression.
Raisins, walnuts and orange peel – sherry heaven.
Peppery, fruity and fresh initially, followed by walnuts and molasses.
Sweet and sticky.
Very pleasent
Smooth and sweet with a peasant warmth. I'm not a whisky drinker, the closest I get I usually get is flavoured bourbon (which I have been repeatedly told by actual whisky drinkers does not count), but this I could drink like water. Originally given to my father as a gift I thought I'd give it a try to see if it was as good at the giver said. I'm now replacing the bottle and buying one for myself.
This is surprisingly good! A very nice bottle and presentation is met with a heavily influenced sherry nose and taste. It is somewhat sweeter than I anticipated, and very viscous, but actually this smacks of sherry, notes of honey and well chosen blended whiskies. Impressed. Most 'drammable' and a good price. I will be buying more!!
I’ve had nicer sherry casked whiskeys before, with sweet, smooth and smokey flavours, but I’m definitely not a fan of this one, it’s definitely nothing to shout about.
This is a delicious Whiskey with a pleasant full flavor ?love It?
