Glenturret 8 Year Old 2009 - North Star Spirits
Distilled in March 2009 at the excellent Glenturret, this little beauty was bottled at 57.1% ABV in September 2017 for the North Star Spirits range. It was charged from a refill bourbon hogshead after 8 years maturation, and there's an outturn 330 bottles, at a very reasonable price.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Honey'd barley, ripe fruit, earthy peat and heather.
Palate
Barley rich, with cured ham, BBQ smoke and citrus zest, with layers of crumbly vanilla biscuits and sprinkles of cracked black pepper.
Finish
Lemon, butterscotch and lingering meaty notes simmer among softer peat smoke.
