Single Malt
Single cask single malt from the Glenturret distillery, independently bottled by the wonderful Signatory. This was distilled back in September 1987 and allowed to mature for 29 years until October 2016, when it was bottled as part of the Cask Strength Collection. A release of 203 bottles.
Honey, cinnamon, green olive, soft oak.
Spiced oak begins to really develop on the palate, though still backed up by generous amounts of honey and ripe orchard fruit.
Barley sugar, orange peel bitterness.
I got a bottle as present, and I am surprised by the harmony and quality. It is not overly complex but carries a very clear handwriting. No smoke or peatiness, but fruit, oak and malt. Somehwat sweet however.
