Single Malt

A Glentauchers bottled as part of Signatory’s 100 Proof Editions, this 16-year-old Speyside single malt was distilled in 2009 and matured exclusively in first-fill oloroso sherry butts. Bottled without chill-filtration or added colour at 57.1% ABV, it’s a dram that oozes sherried richness and structure, showing off this distillery’s lesser-seen character with unapologetic intensity.
Molasses and fruitcake leap out of the glass, followed by earthy walnuts, dark raisins, and hints of cigar box. There's also a splash of treacle and some burnt orange peel lurking beneath.
Chewy sherry-soaked fruits, cocoa nibs, spiced plum compote, and old oak furniture. There's a flash of peppery heat and ginger that livens things up.
Lingering and rich, with liquorice, roasted coffee beans, and toasted almonds riding out on a wave of spicy warmth.
