46% and non-chill filtered with the last 2 years in full Sherry casks. Sounds decent already. Smells of rich dried fruits, coco and honey. Full but not overly cloying rich tastes that match the aromas. What more can you ask for at this price. Better than the sharper more woody and tinier MacCallan. Of all the 4 standard glenmorangies, this is my favorite, it is also one of my favorite Sherried whiskeys.
It's hilarious to read the comments of Islay drinkers, which seem to think that there's in the only style worthwhile, making comments on this excellent whisky. It isn't the be-all end-all but it's delicious. If you don't like it, that's a personal issue, which is cool. But get over your arrogant self already.
Compared to the original, I find this is much smoother and mellow. On the nose, it's a hint of sherry, but the chocolate coated sultanas just stand out. A hint of citrus fruit as well.
Yeah, perhaps my favourite Glenmorangie.... better than the original so worth the few extra quid... and better than Quinta Ruban... so save yourself a few quid. A must buy when on offer in supermarkets.... when I've seen it as low as £27. At that price its an easy decision. Jason Breen.
These bad reviews from people who drink Islay malts, who suggest Highland Park need to be aware that this is a completely different whisky than those. Sherry flavours that will warm the bones on a cold night. A bit expensive, but its good and worth a sample at least.
