Single Malt

From Douglas Laing's wonderful Old Particular range comes an independently bottled Glengoyne single malt, matured in a refill hogshead for 21 years - from September 1997 to September 2018. Glengoyne is known for heavily sherried drams, so it'll be interesting to see some of its whisky without the sherry influence. 223 bottles were produced.
Sugary doughnuts, thyme honey with a hint of basil in the background giving it a savoury edge.
Plenty of vanilla-rich malt notes, alongside honey and chocolate digestives. Nutmeg and cinnamon in the background.
Slightly bready, dried oak and a hint of lemon.

A wonderful whisky.. Strong, fresh and fruity.. I was shocked by how fresh this whisky tasted.. Sweet and punchy with an oily mouth feel and a robust zingy finish.. One of the best
