Glencraig 1975 (bottled 2012) (RO/12/02) - Rare Old (Gordon & MacPhail)
Distilled in the Lomond stills at Glenburgie distillery in 1975, this is the 2012 bottling of 1975 vintage Glencraig single malt from Gordon & MacPhail, part of their Rare Old series. Glencraig has not been produced since 1981, when the Lomond stills were removed from Glenburgie.
Glencraig was produced at Glenburgie between 1958 and 1981 using Lomond stills, which were originally developed by Alistair Cunningham in 1955. Alistair worked for Hiram Walker, who owned Glenburgie during this period. Lomond stills are modified pot stills with additional condensing plates to allow a different style of spirit to be produced.
