Brave New Spirits presents its oldest whisky release to date, a 50-year-old single malt from Glenburgie Distillery in Speyside. It was launched as part of the “Rare & Exclusive” selection from the Cask Masters range, which showcases single cask releases from a varied selection of distilleries that are over 30 years old. The remarkable whisky was distilled in July 1975 and bottled on 4 August 2025, after half a century of maturation in an American bourbon barrel. It was bottled at 40.5% ABV.
The Glenburgie presents nuanced aromas of subtle citrus, gooseberry and “old bottle effect”, leading to a silken texture, green orchard fruit, jasmine tea and delicate oak on the palate. The finish is described as long and balanced, with the jasmine and subtle fruit notes dissipating gently over time.
