GlenAllachie 25 Year Old 1995 (cask 13922) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

This Glenallachie has been treated to a quarter of a century of ageing since its distillation in 1995! It rested in a single refill hogshead for 25 years, until Douglas Laing emptied the cask in April 2020. The Speysider was bottled for the Xtra Old Particular series, with an outturn of 254 bottles at 58.5% ABV. Gloriously malty and honeyed, this one.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

The nose is big, fragrant and immediately malted, honeyed and redolent and sweetie shops and ice cream parlours.

    Palate

The palate is feisty with warming spices, gingery with a cinnamon twist ahead of its typical Speyside malt flair, with a finish that neatly reflects the qualities of its palate.
