This mighty Glenallachie is part of Signatory’s prestige Symington’s Choice line, a single cask bottling drawn from a first-fill oloroso sherry butt. Distilled in 2009, bottled in 2025, and clocking in at a ferocious 65.6% ABV, it’s a heavyweight dram showing off the robust side of this increasingly popular Speyside distillery.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Balsamic glaze and roasted pecans, black cherry jam, and dark chocolate truffles with a backdrop of fig syrup and tobacco leaf.
Palate
Spiced blackcurrants, molasses cake, burnt sugar, and espresso.
Finish
Rich oak tannins, cocoa dust, and a flash of dried chilli heat.
