Another tremendous addition to Signatory's independent Cask Strength Collection. This single malt was distilled at GlenAllachie in 2008 and matured in a first-fill sherry butt – just look at its glorious hue! After maturing for 13 years, the whisky was bottled up in 2021, with a total of 640 bottles released.
Chocolate chip muffins, festive spice, and sherried fruit.
The fruit takes hold with heaps of sultanas and raisins, honeyed figs, and dates. Rich, sweet, and nutty with floral oak.
Warming spices continue with cinnamon and nutmeg, milky coffee with a sprinkling of cocoa powder.
Very good dram, Sherry bomb, long finish but in the end a little bit sour.
