Single Malt

Distilled at Glen Spey in September 2010, this single malt was placed into a pair of hogsheads that had the good fortune of finding their way to the folks at indie bottler Signatory! In June 2021, after maturing for 10 years, the casks were opened and the whisky was bottled up as part of Signatory's Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Almont butter, caramel, a touch grassy with herbal malt and toasty sawdust.
Melon, plum, nutty barley, and baked apples balance buttery zest and rich, peppery oak.
Roasted nuts, oaky warmth with sultanas and mixed spice.

Opened this last evening - my first bottle of Glen Spey - and it was a lovely dram. A smooth, fruity and nutty Speyside with quite a spicy finish that lingers long. It's a mouth - coating dram at 46 proof - delicious straight but even better with a drop of water. Well worth a try.
