Glen Scotia 17 Year Old 1992 (Murray McDavid)
Campbeltown has a mighty history but sadly today only three distilleries remain in what is now the smallest Scotch whisky region. Thankfully, the reportedly haunted, Glen Scotia is one of the survivors.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Soft waves of peat peppered with hazel and cashew nuts.
Palate
The mouth-feel is full and oily, with oranges and bananas forming a fruit salad of flavour. With time a salty element emerges with subtle peat notes.
Finish
Lime zest and candied lemon peel create a clean and fruity finish.
Overall
A big fruit bowl of a whisky but with enough smoke and salt to appease the Campbeltown lover.
