Description

An independently bottled Glen Scotia from Douglas Laing’s Old Particular collection. The Campbeltown single malt spent 11 years maturing in a single bourbon barrel, developing plenty of vanilla, orchard fruit, and coastal character, with a gentle thread of smoke underneath.

Nose

Vanilla toffee, green apple, and ripe peach, with barley sugar, sea air, and a faint suggestion of coastal smoke.

Palate

Orchard fruit and creamy vanilla lead, joined by dried apricot, allspice, malted barley, and a little salted caramel. A gentle smoky note develops towards the back.

Finish

Medium to long, with vanilla, apple skin, toasted barley, drying spice, and a lingering thread of smoke.
